Pittwater Place is a Multiplex development located on Sydney's northern beach suburb, Mona Vale.  Designcraft was approached by the project management firm Clifton Coney to provide an indicative price on the external signs that were detailed in the architect's plans and to include a scope of works for internal signs, based on the company's experience with other developments.

The project incorporated basement parking; ground floor retail; and first floor commercial signage.    The team worked closely with Multiplex Construction, Leffler Simes Architects and Clifton Coney to determine the types and quantities of signs needed for the development. 

Design concepts were changed early in the process to incorporate a new Corporate Image developed by Multiplex.  The company used it's in-house design department to produce sign concepts based on the new corporate image requirements.

Different areas of responsibility were determined for both Designcraft and Multiplex but generally were defined as:

Designcraft - provision of artwork to be approved by Multiplex and the retail tenants; manufacture of sign components; engineering certificates; co-ordination of installation with Multiplex constructions.

Multiplex - provision of architects drawings and builders plans; Council applications; electricity supply to each sign; approval of artwork.

The completed project consisted of the following:

PLYON SIGNS:          
Two 8.5m illuminated pylons erected on two street frontages, with construction to be in the shape of the MPX corporate design.

WALL SIGNS:                      
Internally lit boxes and fabricated letters for identification of the centre's tenants. 

CAR PARK ENTRY SIGNS:          
Internally lit boxes, height bars and parking signs on the entrance to the basement carpark.

CORPORATE SIGNS:      
The Pitterwater Place name and logo to appear at various locations around the perimeter of the building, displayed with the main tenants names.

PARKING SIGNS:          
The Pittwater Council required a number of parking signs to be installed at various locations around the centre.  The centre also needed speed and advisory signs as well as parking information signs.

INTERNAL SIGNS - WAYFINDING:
The client requested floor mounted illuminated directories, wall mounted and suspended wayfinding signs.  Also included in the scope of works were braille & tactile signs, statutory door signs, carpark speed & directional signs.

INTERNAL SIGNS - TENANTS:

Coles bulkhead signs were manufactured and installed by the Signcraft Group.  Other tenants were included on the pylon and wall signs.
