Great Southern Railway Limited, the company behind "The Ghan", "Indian Pacific" and "The Overland" passenger trains is committed to improving tourism in areas where its train services operate. Part of this improvement was the upgrading of the Alice Springs and Adelaide Keswick Rail Stations.
In conjunction with Atomiq Design, Signcraft Queensland were initially engaged as consultants to develop a unique family of signs. Through our architectural division SignCorp, we were able to offer the client a complete design package and were then set the task of not only producing these signs but also organsing the extensive logisitical requirements of completing the installation of the project within a 6 week timeframe.
The finished project consisted of Modulex Pacific and Compass Systems in a variety of small and large monoliths, free standing signage, wall signage and a blend of custom made signage.
The entire project was run from the Queensland Plant, including the logistical organisation of transporting all signage to Alice Springs.
Signcraft were pleased to be able to produce a functional signage system that was not only practical, but aesthetically appealing, that served to improve the tourism experience that the Great Southern Railway was aiming to achieve.
